Why Order This MS64 1897 Morgan Dollar?Of all the classic U.S. coins, the Morgan silver dollar is one of the most well-known. Many see these coins as symbols of the Wild West. They were first struck in 1878 and production continued through 1904, they were also minted in 1921. This 1897 Morgan silver dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, so it doesn't have a Mint mark. There were 2,822,000 of these coins struck, which is a little low for the series. Detailed Liberty Obverse and Classic Bald Eagle ReverseIf you're looking for the date, it can be found on the obverse near the bottom of the design. It forms part of the border along with 13 stars and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." This depiction of Liberty is the work of George T. Morgan. A number of inscriptions are displayed on the reverse. The face value can be found among them. This side shows Morgan's bald eagle design. Graded MS64 by NGCThe Numismatic Guaranty Corporation was selected to grade this Morgan dollar. The unbiased professionals there use a grading scale with a maximum of 70. This coin received the grade of Mint State 64. That means this specimen is in uncirculated condition and has few flaws.
