Why Order This AU50 1896-O Morgan Silver Dollar?

The Morgan silver dollar has been a favorite of collectors for generations. These coins are known for their classic designs and their strong ties to the Wild West. These coins were issued for circulation from 1878 through 1904 and also in 1921. This Morgan dollar was struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1896. It had a mintage of 4,900,000 pieces.

Classic Portrait of Liberty by Morgan

The portrait of Liberty on the obverse was created by George T. Morgan. Liberty's face, hair, and cap all display a high level of detail. The border is formed by "E PLURIBUS UNUM," the date, and 13 stars.

The "O" mint mark is located on the reverse. It can be found just above the face value. The central portion of this design shows a detailed bald eagle with arrows and an olive branch in its talons.

This specimen was graded and encapsulated by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). From their grading scale with a maximum of 70, it received the grade of About Uncirculated 50. Nearly all of the original details can still be seen. Some signs of wear are visible.
