Why order this Silver 1892 Barber Dime?

Any serious collector of historic American coins must have at least one Barber Dime in their collection. What better one to have than the first? The issue ultimately ran from 1892 to 1916, when it was replaced by the iconic Mercury Dime. Struck from 2.5 g of .900 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin was part of a mintage of 12,120,000 pieces.

Classic Liberty Design by Charles Barber

Both faces of this coin bear the designs of Charles Barber. Barber borrowed the basic Liberty design from the Morgan Silver Dollar but shortened the figure's hair and placed a Liberty cap upon her head. The effigy is encircled by a pair of inscriptions, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "1892."

The coin's face value, "ONE DIME," is inscribed in large letters on the reverse. It is encircled by a wreath that is very similar to the one on the coin's predecessor, the Seated Liberty Dime.

Well Preserved AU55

The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in Almost Uncirculated 55 condition. That means that the piece retains full details more than a century and a quarter after it was first struck.

Don't miss your chance to own this 1892 Silver Barber Dime.
