Why order this 1891-S Liberty Seated Silver Dime

This 1891-S Silver Liberty Seated Dime was part of the last ever issue of the coin. It was struck from 2.5 grams of .900 fine silver at the San Francisco Mint, which is represented by an "S" Mint mark. The coin was part of Louis Eliasberg's collection, which included a complete collection of regular issue American coins. Eliasberg's collection was legendary, and this is a rare opportunity for you to own a piece of it.

Classic Seated Liberty Design by James Longacre

James Longacre designed both faces of this coin. On the obverse, Liberty sits on a rock and holds a Union Shield. On the shield is a roll that bears an inscription of her name, "LIBERTY." Known as the "Legend Obverse," this face also includes the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arching over the image, while the date, "1891," is inscribed below.

The coin's face value, "ONE DIME," is at the center of the reverse. It is encircled by a wreath that is comprised of corn, wheat, maple, and oak. The Mint mark is at the bottom of the wreath.

Uncirculated MS61

American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS) graded this coin Mint State 61. That means that the coin has a weak to average strike but lacks any traces of wear. It may have several marks and large abrasions.
