Iconic Designs by George T. Morgan

Both faces of this coin bear the designs of the man who gives his name to the coin, George T. Morgan. Anna Willess Williams served as Morgan's model for Liberty, giving a depiction of Liberty true American looks for the first time. Liberty wears a crown made from two American crops, cotton and wheat, as well as a ribbon with an inscription of her name and a Phrygian cap. The image is encircled by the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1890," along with thirteen stars along the rim.

An eagle grasps arrows and an olive branch on the reverse. It has its wings spread upward, nearly touching the edge. Between the wings is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." A wreath of laurel partially encircles the image.

Uncirculated Mint State 64

This coin received a mid-range uncirculated grade, Mint State 64, from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). That grade is given to coins with at least average strikes and several obvious hairllines or marks and other minuscule imperfections.
