Why Choose This MS63 1887 Morgan Dollar?
Of all the classic U.S. coins that are available to collectors today, the Morgan silver dollar continues to be one of the most popular. These coins were minted from 1878 through 1904 and then again for a single year in 1921. In 1887, this Morgan dollar was struck at the Philadelphia branch of the U.S. Mint.
Inspiring Patriotic Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
These silver dollars are known as Morgan dollars because George T. Morgan created the designs for the obverse and reverse. Liberty can be seen on the obverse, she's wearing a small cap and facing the left.
On the reverse, a bald eagle can be seen holding its wings high. It's grasping arrows and an olive branch with its talons. The face value can be found in the lower portion of the design.
