Why Order This Mint State 65 1887 Morgan Dollar?

One of this country's most recognizable classic coins was first struck in 1878, the Morgan silver dollar. These are among the most widely collected classic coins. This dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1887. Originally, 20,290,000 of these were minted but only a fraction of them remain today. This is one of the more common dates of the series. It is an excellent choice for any collector seeking a high grade specimen for a modest price.

Classic Liberty Design by Morgan

The designs found on the obverse and reverse of this silver dollar are the work of George T. Morgan. The obverse features Liberty with a cap. The date can be found on this side as well.

On the reverse, a powerful bald eagle is depicted. It is partially surrounded by a detailed wreath while it holds an olive branch and a bundle of arrows with its talons. Since this coin is from the Philadelphia Mint, it does not have a mintmark.

Graded Mint State 65 by NGC

The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) were tasked with grading and authenticating this coin. After it was found to be authentic, its condition was examined. It is in uncirculated condition and was given the grade of Mint State 65, which is in the middle of the uncirculated range.
