Spectacular MS66 New York Bank Hoard example
MS66 coins are also called "Gem Uncirculated" coins. These coins have excellent strikes which result in full, sharp design details. They have few bag or contact marks and few, if any hairlines. These distractions will be in non-focal areas on the coin. These are fully original examples with spectacular mint luster and astounding eye appeal. The New York Bank Hoard was the "hard money" silver reserve of a Wall Street executive. He stored 16 original canvas bags of Morgans in a Manhattan bank for over 50 years. These U.S. Treasury bags had not been opened since the day the coins were struck!
