Why add the 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar From the Great Montana Collection NGC MS64 to your collection?
This outstanding 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar would be an excellent addition to any silver dollar collection. It was graded Mint State 64 (MS64) by the experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). This coin was struck at the legendary United States Mint at New Orleans, Louisiana. There is no other branch Mint with two distinct periods during which it struck circulating U.S. coinage. This dollar coin was struck on a .900 pure silver planchet containing .7734 oz. of silver bullion.
Brilliant Silver Dollar Design
George T. Morgan was only aged 31 at the time he was given the assignment to design a new silver dollar for the United States. Morgan was a talented engraver and English immigrant who later became Seventh Chief Engraver of the US Mint. The obverse of the coin features the face of Lady Liberty, the personification and symbol of Freedom. The reverse features an eagle with wings spread. The eagle is surrounded by a laurel wreath. Over the eagle is the phrase "In God We Trust" in Gothic script.
