Why Order This MS64 Toned 1885-O Morgan Dollar from the Great Montana Collection?

In 1878, the very first Morgan silver dollars were struck by the U.S. Mint. They were minted annually from 1878 through 1904, although they were also minted again for a single year in 1921. These 90% silver coins are seen by many to be a symbol of the Wild West. The New Orleans Mint struck this coin in 1885. It had a moderate mintage, there were 9,185,000 of these struck. However, this specimen has several qualities that separate it from other 1885-O Morgan dollars. The coin offered here displays toning and it was a part of the Great Montana Collection.

Stunning Classic American Designs on Obverse and Reverse

The date can be found on the obverse as part of the design's border. It is among the 13 stars at the bottom. This side shows George T. Morgan's portrait of Liberty.

If you're looking for the "O" mintmark, it can be found on the reverse. It's located between the face value and the wreath. The central portion shows a bald eagle with arrows and an olive branch.
