Why Make This MS64 1885-O Great Montana Collection Morgan Silver Dollar the Next Addition to Your Collection?
There are plenty of things to like about the Morgan silver dollar. The design is a classic, there are a number of key dates, and these coins have plenty of history surrounding them to boot. These coins were struck from 1878 through 1904 and again in 1921. The Morgan dollar offered here was struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1885. The coin shown here is the exact coin you will receive when you order. This specimen was once a part of the Great Montana Collection.
Patriotic Icons as Depicted by Morgan
The date is displayed on the obverse among 13 stars in the lower portion of the design. The central portion shows a detailed portrait of Liberty. This side of the coin was designed by George T. Morgan.
The reverse was designed by Morgan as well. The bald eagle on this side is holding its wings and chest high as it grasps arrows and an olive branch with its talons. The mintmark is between the wreath and the face value in the lower portion of the design.
This specimen is in choice uncirculated condition. When it was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation for certification, it received the grade of Mint State 64. This coin will have plenty of mint luster and great eye appeal.
