The Most Popular U.S. Silver Dollar Design
Obverse: The classic obverse features Liberty's portrait, facing left while wearing a coronet and Freedom Cap. The model for the design was Anna Willess Williams, a Philadelphia school teacher.
Reverse: The reverse features an impressive Bald Eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. Around him appears a wreath. Beneath the wreath is the historic "O" mint mark.
MS66 Excellence Green Label Mystique
Mint State 66 coins are excellent examples, with few noticeable flaws. They have full mint luster and an excellent strike. Interestingly, the New Orleans Mint is known for weak strikes, as they adjusted their presses for maximum die life instead of strong strikes. A well struck coin from New Orleans is tough to find. The Green Label is only awarded to coins of exceptional quality that were first identified by a team of experts at Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA) for having elements such as stunning eye-appeal, attractive toning, deep luster, or good striking. Then, the coin was submitted for further examination and encapsulation at NGC.
