Why does this Carson City struck 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar deserve a place in your collection?
The United States Mint introduced the Morgan Silver Dollar series in 1878. The series features the artistry of George T. Morgan, who was hired by the Mint as an assistant engraver in 1876. The series was produced for a total of twenty-eight years before its replacement by the Peace Dollar in late 1921. Out of the series' ninety-six date/Mint mark combinations, only thirteen releases carry the Carson City Mint mark.
