Why purchase this Mint State 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar?

The U.S. Mint issued the Morgan Silver Dollar for a total of twenty-eight years, beginning in 1878. The Carson City branch of the Mint produced the coin for only thirteen of those years, usually with much lower mintages than the other Mint branches. This Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the Carson City Mint in 1884.

  • The coin contains 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver.
  • The coin is part of a 1,136,000 piece mintage.
  • This superbly graded silver dollar features the NGC's Green style certification label.

Symbolic Personification of Liberty

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse wearing Phrygian cap adorned with the word "LIBERTY," along with sprigs of wheat, cotton and oak to represent the significance of the nation's dependence on agricultural advancements. The portrait is encircled by thirteen stars, and the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1884."

Reverse: On the reverse, the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR" surround the depiction of an eagle holding an olive branch and three arrows. A laurel wreath curves below, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" inscribed between the eagle's outstretched wings. "CC," the Mint mark of the Carson City Mint, is located beneath the wreath.

Beautiful Mint State 64+

This 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar received the grade of Mint State 64 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The coin was also awarded the designation of "Plus," which describes the silver dollar's exceptional eye appeal. The silver dollar is sealed in a protective holder accompanied by a NGC green certification label, which means that in prior to NGC's assessment, the coin was selected by Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA) for elements such as strike, luster and eye appeal. Only coins that meet RARCOA's strict standards are awarded the NGC Green Label allowing collectors to recognize superior quality coins.
