Why add the 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar NGC MS63 to your collection?
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar at the solidly respectable Mint State 63 level. It has a lower mintage of 1,136,000 coins and was struck on a .900 fine silver planchet containing .7734 oz. actual silver weight (ASW). The iconic Carson City branch of the US Mint is responsible for minting some of the most spectacular rarities in the field of Numismatics. Coins struck there are avidly collected by specialists.
Classic Morgan Design
The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Anna Willess Williams, a Philadelphia school teacher who modeled as Liberty. She is depicted facing left with a coronet inscribed "Liberty" with agricultural motifs incorporated into her curly hair. The reverse features the image of an eagle surrounded by a laurel wreath. Over the eagle's head appears the motto "In God We Trust" in Gothic lettering. This was engraver George T. Morgan's first design for the Unite States Mint.
