Why add the 1883 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGC Mint State 65 DPL to your collection?

This 1883 Morgan Silver Dollar was given the high Mint State 65 grade from Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGC) and earned the coveted DPL or Deep Prooflike (DPL) designation. In 1878 the United States Mint was directed to strike a national treasure: the Morgan silver dollar. Each coin contains .7734 oz. of silver struck on a 90% pure planchet. The series was struck until 1904 and then had one more year of issuance in 1921.

Morgan's Iconic Dollar

The obverse of the coin features the face of Liberty in left profile. She is depicted wearing a coronet with ivy in her hair. The reverse depicts the classic symbol of American Strength, the Bald Eagle. George T. Morgan designed this Numismatic Icon when he was in his thirties. He would later become the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint.

Highly Collectible Deep Proof-like appearance

Mint State 65 Morgans are in demand and tough to get in this state of preservation. These coins are lustrous examples of an American icon. The Deep Prooflike designation is reserved for coins that exhibit heavily mirrored fields and frosty devices. This designation is coveted by Morgan Dollar specialists.
