This 1883 Morgan Silver Dollar was given the high Mint State 64 (MS64) grade from Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). In 1878 the United States Mint was directed to strike a silver dollar coin for circulation within the U.S. The resulting coin, the Morgan Dollar has become one of the most collected and beloved silver coins in American numismatics. No other issue captures the romance and allure of the Old West like this silver dollar. George T. Morgan was the designer of this iconic coin. He would later become the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint.
