Why Choose This VF/XF No Cents 1883 Liberty Nickel?

The Liberty nickel was struck by the U.S. Mint and issued for circulation from 1883 through 1912. These coins are also known as V nickels. The Liberty nickel offered here was struck in 1883 at the Philadelphia Mint. This is the no cents variety and had a mintage of 5,474,300 pieces.

Classic Liberty Design by Barber

The designs on the Liberty nickel are the work of Charles Barber, who was Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint at that time. The obverse of this nickel shows Barber's depiction of Liberty. The date and 13 stars can also be seen here.

The reverse of this coin shows a large "V" at the center of the design surrounded by a wreath. Since this is the no cents variety, the only other inscriptions here are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."

VF/XF Condition

This nickel has not been certified by a third-party grading service. Wear is visible but there are still many original details to observe. This specimen is approximately in Very Fine to Extremely Fine condition.
