Why Make This AU 1883-O Morgan Dollar the Next Addition to Your Collection?

Of all the coins struck by the U.S. Mint that are considered classic today, the Morgan silver dollar is one of the most widely collected. The Morgan dollar shown here was struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1883. There were 8,725,000 of these minted; this figure is moderate compared to other coins of the series.

Morgan's Classic Patriotic Works of Art

These coins are named after the man who created the designs, George T. Morgan. The obverse shows his classic portrait of Liberty in a cap. The date can be found as part of the border among 13 stars.

A bald eagle is depicted in a powerful position on the reverse. It's shown holding its chest out and its wings high. A detailed wreath partially surrounds it and "IN GOD WE TRUST" can be seen between the tips of its wings. The face value is at the bottom of the design and the "O" mintmark can be found just above it.

This coin was graded and encapsulated by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. It was found to be in About Uncirculated condition. Just a small degree of wear can be seen if you look very closely.
