Why Choose This MS64 1883-O Great Montana Collection Morgan Silver Dollar?

The Morgan silver dollar is widely known among collectors and non-collectors alike because of its association with the Wild West era of United States history. The New Orleans Mint struck this Morgan dollar in 1883. There were 8,725,000 of these minted. The coin displayed on this page is the specimen you will receive when you order. This is actually a hoard coin, it was taken from the Great Montana Collection.

Inspiring Obverse and Reverse Designs by Morgan

The name Morgan dollar comes from the fact that both designs on this coin were created by George T. Morgan. On the obverse, 13 stars can be seen below a portrait of Liberty.

The design on the reverse shows a bald eagle. Arrows and an olive branch can be seen in its talons as it holds its wings high. It's partially surrounded by a wreath. The "O" mintmark of the New Orleans Mint can be found below this.

To have this classic coin graded and encapsulated, it was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. The experts there use a grading scale with a maximum of 70. This specimen received the grade of Mint State 64 for its choice uncirculated condition.
