Why should you consider purchasing this 1883 Morgan Silver Dollar from the great Montana Collection?

The Morgan Silver Dollar was first introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1878 and is a classic piece of American coinage, highly regarded by collectors for its design created by George T. Morgan. Struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1883, this Morgan Silver Dollar was originally owned by a Montana man who hoarded a large collection of silver dollars that were later discovered and sold to the public.

Both faces designed by George T. Morgan

The obverse bears a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap inscribed with the word, "LIBERTY."

The reverse features a heraldic eagle, grasping an olive branch and cluster of arrows. This design includes the inscriptions, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the New Orleans Mintmark "O."

Graded Mint State 63 by NGC

This Morgan Silver Dollar was graded as Mint State 63 (MS63) by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The designation of MS63 is reserved for coins that are of a good strike, with eye appeal and mint luster intact.
