Why Add This MS63 Toned 1883-O Great Montana Collection Morgan Dollar to Your Collection Today?

There is plenty of history surrounding the Morgan silver dollar, which is just one of the numerous reasons that so many collectors are drawn to these coins. In 1883, the Morgan dollar shown here was struck at the New Orleans branch of the U.S. Mint. There were 8,725,000 of these minted. Compared to other Morgan dollars, this figure is moderate. In addition to the specimen offered here being toned, it was also once a part of the Great Montana Collection. This coin hoard was recovered in 1998; it contained thousands of classic U.S. coins.

Exquisite Timeless Designs by Morgan

The obverse features George T. Morgan's portrait of Liberty that so many of us are familiar with. The date is just below Liberty as she looks to the left.

The face value and mintmark can be found on the reverse near the bottom of the design. This side depicts a bald eagle with its wings high in the air.

MS63 Toned

This coin was assigned the grade of Mint State 63 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, which means it's in choice uncirculated condition. Its status as a hoard coin has also been recognized.
