Why purchase this Morgan Silver Dollar struck in Carson City, 1883?

The Morgan Silver Dollar was a staple of the United States Mint for twenty-seven consecutive years, from 1878 until 1904, with one final release in 1921. Imagery remained consistent throughout the series, featuring designs symbolic of liberty and freedom created by George T. Morgan. This Morgan Dollar was struck at the Carson City Mint in 1883 from 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver, its mintage reported to be 1,204,000.

Stunning Portrayal of Lady Liberty

Lady Liberty is centered on the obverse wearing a "LIBERTY" inscribed crown and a Phrygian cap, her hair entwined with an array of leaves and flowers. The portrait is surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1883."

The reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed above, with a ribbon-tied laurel wreath and Carson City's "CC" Mint mark below. The image is encircled by the additional inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR."
