Why buy these 1883-1885-O Silver Dollars with a Mammoth Mining Stock Certificate

The Mammoth Montana Mining Company incorporated in 1907, and one of its stock certificates comes with these three 1885 Morgan Silver Dollars. The certificate is in crisp, uncirculated condition, and several American coins, including a Morgan dollar, appear on the reverse. The Morgan Dollars themselves date 1883, 1884, and 1885. Each one was struck from .7734 troy oz of .900 fine silver at the New Orleans Mint and bears that mint's "O" mint mark on the reverse. All of the coins were part of the Great Montana Collection of Zollie Kelman, which remains one of the largest known private hoards in American history.

Beloved Liberty by George T. Morgan

George T. Morgan took American numismatics in a new direction by departing from the tradition of portraying Liberty as a Greek-style figure and instead portraying her an an American-style one. His obverse design shows the figure in left-side profile with long hair that is partially covered by a traditional symbol of freedom from slavery, a Phrygian cap. She also wears a ribbon that bears her name, "LIBERTY," and a crown made from one northern crop, wheat, and one southern one, cotton. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (From many, one) is inscribed at the top of the rim, while the date is at the bottom. Thirteen stars, one for each of the original states, spread throughout the remaining rim space.

On the reverse, an eagle holds arrows, symbols of military readiness, and an olive branch, a symbol of peace. The bird has its wings stretched upward in a V-shape, within which is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," An open wreath partially encircled the bird. Rim inscriptions read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR."
