Striking Liberty Design by George T. Morgan
Obverse: George T. Morgan's obverse design shows Liberty in left-side profile. She has long, curly hair that is partially covered by a Phrygian cap, a ribbon, and a crown of cotton and wheat. Encircling the image along the rim are thirteen stars and two inscriptions, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1882."
Reverse: Morgan's reverse design consists of an eagle that holds arrows and an olive branch and an open wreath that partially encircles the bird. Above the eagle's head is an inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Rim inscriptions encircling the image note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the face value of the coin, "ONE DOLLAR."

In addition to meeting NGC's strict grading and authentication requirements, before being submitted to grading, the coin also met standards for luster, strike and eye appeal set by RARCOA (Rare Coin Company of America).
