Striking Liberty Design by George T. Morgan

Obverse: George T. Morgan's obverse design shows Liberty in left-side profile. She has long, curly hair that is partially covered by a Phrygian cap, a ribbon, and a crown of cotton and wheat. Encircling the image along the rim are thirteen stars and two inscriptions, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1882."

Reverse: Morgan's reverse design consists of an eagle that holds arrows and an olive branch and an open wreath that partially encircles the bird. Above the eagle's head is an inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Rim inscriptions encircling the image note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the face value of the coin, "ONE DOLLAR."

Beautiful MS65 with Green Label

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) gave this coin a grade of Mint State 65 because it was struck well and shows no traces of wear. The silver dollar is encapsulated in a protective holder accompanied by NGC's prestigious Green style certification label, which represents a two-stage process. In addition to meeting NGC's strict grading and authentication requirements, before being submitted to grading, the coin also met standards for luster, strike and eye appeal set by RARCOA (Rare Coin Company of America). Only coins that possess this exception quality will receive NGC's Green Label.
