Why Buy This AU53 1882-O VAM-3 O/S Flush Morgan Dollar?

While there are quite a number of U.S. coins available today, the Morgan silver dollar is still a top choice among many collectors. These coins were first issued in 1878 and mintage continued through 1904. This Morgan dollar was struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1882. There were 6,090,000 minted, but the specimen offered here displays the very desirable VAM-3 O/S variety. These only make up a portion of the original mintage.

Morgan's Exquisite Classic Designs

These coins are known as Morgan dollars because the obverse and reverse designs were created by George T. Morgan. The obverse shows a portrait of Liberty with flowing hair and a cap. The date can be seen at the bottom.

On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted. This eagle is holding its chest and wings high while it grasps a bundle of arrows an an olive branch with its talons. Look just above the face value to see the die variety.

This classic coin was certified by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). It received the grade of About Uncirculated 53 (AU 53). That means this specimen shows minor signs of wear.
