It was the first standard silver coin to be produced under the Coinage act of 1973 and contains 26.73g of .900 pure silver. Featuring a quintessential design of early American coinageDepicted on the obverse is the left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. This portrait was modeled after the teacher and writer Anna Wiles Williams. The design stands as an iconic piece in American coinage as is was one of the first coins to feature a modern, American depiction of Lady Liberty. The reverse features an American bald eagle with unfurled wings. The bird carries in its claws a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. Encircling the image are inscriptions which read; "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR" and the American motto "IN GOD WE TRUST." Achieving the grade of Mint State 64 by NGCThis 1882 Morgan Silver Dollar was graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and received the grade of Mint State 64.
