Why add the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar NGC MS65 Green Label to your collection?
This 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar has more to offer collectors than just being a solid example of the most collected series in American silver coinage, the Morgan Silver Dollar. This example was graded Mint State 65 (MS65) by a team at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and preserved for future generations with the prestigious new Green Label, the result of a collaboration between NGC and Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA), one of the leading numismatic distributors in the United States.
Classic Liberty Obverse
Obverse: The model for the obverse depiction of Liberty was Philadelphia school teacher Anna Willis Williams. Mr. Morgan regarded her profile as the most perfect for this assignment and design.
Reverse: The reverse design was an entirely new depiction of powerful American Bald Eagle with spread wings. Familiar motifs of the laurel wreath, the motto "In God We Trust" and arrows and an olive branch are utilized also.
MS65 Green Label Coin!
The Mint State 65 grade features a strong strike, attractive eye appeal and good luster and can be a great place for collectors to focus on while acquiring stunning coins. This coin features NGC's new Green Label which is reserved for examples that RARCOA determined to be of superior quality, including factors like razor-sharp strikes, outstanding eye-appeal, booming luster, or attractive toning. These top-tier coins are then submitted to NGC for encapsulation and certification. Only coins that meet RARCOA's strict standards qualify for the Green Label, allowing collectors to recognize superior quality coins knowing went through both RARCOA's additional scrutiny AND NGC's certification process.
