Why add the PCGS-graded Mint State 66 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar to your collection?

This stunning 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar was given the Mint State 66 grade from the experts at the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). This Morgan Silver Dollar was struck on a 90% pure silver planchet containing .7734 oz. of actual Silver Weight at the world famous San Francisco Mint. The SF Mint was founded in 1854 to strike gold coinage from the California Gold Rush. After the gold rush died down, the Mint served as one of the primary silver coining facilities in the Western U.S. This issue saw higher mintage numbers as it was early in the Morgan run. It is a great and affordable candidate for acquisition in a high grade for type.

Stunning and iconic Liberty portrait obverse

The obverse image used on this issue is the left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. She is featured wearing a tiara inscribed with "Liberty" that is festooned with agricultural motifs. The Heraldic Eagle is shown on the reverse.

Spectacular Mint State 66 example

Mint State 66 coins are in the GEM Uncirculated area. These coins have excellent strikes which result in full, sharp design details. They have few bag or contact marks and few if nay hairlines. These distractions will be in non-focal areas on the coin. These are fully original examples with spectacular Mint luster and spectacular eye appeal.
