Striking Eagle Design by George T. Morgan
Obverse: The coin's obverse design, like its reverse, was created by George T. Morgan. Liberty features in left-side profile wearing a ribbon that bears an inscription of her name, a Phrygian cap, and a crown made from cotton and wheat, a Southern crop and a Northern one. Her effigy is encircled by thirteen stars and two inscriptions, 'E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1880."
Reverse: On the reverse, an eagle stretches its wings toward the rim as it clutches arrows and an olive branch partially encircled by an open wreath. Above the eagle's head is an inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR" are inscribed along the rim.

The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) awarded this coin a grade of Mint State 67. That grade indicates that this piece was struck sharply. The silver dollar is housed in a protective holder and comes with NGC's Green style certification label, which is the result of a two-step process. First, the coin met Rare Coin Company of America's (RARCOA's) high standards for luster, strike, and eye appeal, before being submitted to grading, where it also underwent NGC's exacting grading and authentication requirements, ensuring only coins of exceptional quality receive the prestigious Green Label.
