Why Buy This MS62 1880 Toned Morgan Dollar?

The Morgan silver dollar is one of the most well-known classic U.S. coins. They were issued during a very interesting time in U.S. history and many are drawn to them because of their association with the Wild West. This toned Morgan dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1880. There were 12,600,000 of these minted. The toned specimen offered here is the result of the natural processes that coins go through as they age. Toning changes the color of the coin's surface.

Unique Liberty Portrait and Detailed Bald Eagle Reverse

Both sides of this silver dollar display designs that were created by George T. Morgan. Liberty is depicted on the obverse. There are many fine details throughout her face and hair, the date is just below her neck.

The reverse shows a bald eagle design with a number of inscriptions. The eagle is partially surrounded by a wreath as it holds its wings high.

Certified MS62 by NGC

The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation were trusted with grading this Morgan dollar. It was awarded the grade of Mint State 62 from their 70 point grading scale, which means this coin is in uncirculated condition.
