Lady Liberty's ProfileObverse: The image used on the obverse of the coin is the left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty, the allegorical personification of Freedom. She is shown wearing a small crown inscribed with her name. Agricultural motifs are woven into her hair. Reverse: The reverse features a Heraldic Eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. The motto "In God we Trust" is inscribed in Gothic lettering over the eagle's head. The coin was designed by George Morgan as his first assignment for the U.S. Mint.
