This obverse design features a portrait of only Liberty's head, as envisioned by designer George T. Morgan. The portrait was modeled by Anna Williams, a Philadelphia school teacher. The reverse featured on the series was less of a design departure and favored the powerful bald eagle designs of predecessor silver dollars. The eagle is featured holding an olive branch and arrows, as ever. The Morgan design adds a laurel wreath surrounding the eagle.
