Classic Silver Dollar Design
What makes this a VAM-8? The short answer is the "80" re-punched over "79" in the last two numbers of the year. The obverse features the portrait Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with her name. The reverse features the legislatively mandated depiction of an American Bald Eagle. The eagle is surrounded by a laurel wreath which symbolizes prosperity.
