Why order this Set of 1880-1947 U.S. American Coin Classics?

This set of classic coins from the late 19th and first half of the 20th century is perfect for any collector looking for an affordable slice of American numismatic history. The set consists of an Indian Head Cent, a Buffalo Nickel, a Mercury Dime, a Standing Liberty Quarter, and a Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The dime, the quarter, and the half dollar were all struck from .900 fine silver, which is also known as "constitutional silver."

Patriotic Designs by James Longacre, Adolph Weinman, James Earle Fraser, and Herman MacNeil

All five of the coins in this set are familiar to experienced collectors. James Longacre designed the Indian Head Cent, which features Liberty wearing an Indian headdress on the obverse. The Buffalo Nickel, after which the modern Gold Buffalo is modeled, was designed by James Earle Fraser. The reverse bears an image of the creature for which it is named, while the obverse has a composite portrait of a Native American. Adolph Weinman's dime earned the name "Mercury Dime" when many mistook Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap as the Roman god. Herman MacNeil's quarter was a product of its time, with Liberty emerging to defend her values. Weinman also designed the half dollar, which includes the Walking Liberty obverse, which appears today on the Silver Eagle.

Well Preserved Fine Condition

The coins in this set are all in Fine condition. That means that the design elements, including letters and digits, remain intact and legible.

PLEASE NOTE: This U.S. Mint product was not purchased by us directly from the Mint but from collectors like you and other dealers. We make every effort to make sure the packaging is acceptable and that the coins are problem free. You may, however, receive coins that have toning or haze. This occurs naturally over time and is common to see. There may be some imperfections in packaging due to the sets leaving one collection to go into another. Please keep this in mind when examining your sets.
