Featuring the Classic Liberty Design of George T. Morgan

Both faces of this coin bear designs by George T. Morgan. Obverse: On the obverse is a left-side portrait of Liberty. She wears a ribbon that bears an inscription of her name, a Phrygian cap, and a crown made from one Southern crop, cotton, and one Northern one, wheat. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1879" are inscribed along the rim, where they are joined by thirteen stars.

Reverse: An open wreath partially encircles an eagle, which holds arrows and an olive branch, on the reverse. The national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is inscribed between the eagle's wings. Along the rim are inscriptions of the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR."

Beautifully Preserved MS65 with Green Label

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in Mint State 65 condition and awarded it their exciting Green Label. The presence of the Green Label indicates that prior to being submitted to NGC for grading, this coin was hand-selected by RARCOA along a strict set of guidelines that evaluates coins for elements like outstanding eye-appeal, razor-sharp strike, booming luster, or attractive toning.
