Why Order This BU 1878-S Morgan Silver Dollar?
Of all the classic US coins, the Morgan silver dollar is one of the most popular among collectors today. This Morgan dollar was struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1878. By weight, it’s 90% silver. It has an actual silver weight of over ¾ Troy oz. Mintage of this coin was moderate for the series. Originally, there were 9,774,000 of these struck.
The Morgan dollar gets its name from its designer, George T. Morgan. He designed both sides of the coin. On the obverse, his depiction of Liberty can be seen. She is shown with long flowing hair and a cap. The reverse displays an eagle with its wings spread inside a wreath. The Mint mark can be found below the wreath.
This coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. That means it may have imperfections from the way coins were handled when it was minted, such as bag marks, but it has been spared from circulation. It displays all of its original details. It has not been graded by a third-party grading service.
