Why order this 1850-1907 $20 Gold Liberty Head Double Eagle?

The United States began issuing $20 gold coins in the mid-19th century following the California Gold Rush. The coins were the largest circulating gold coins at the time. The coins were issued in three types, Unlike Type 1, Type 2 included the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." The shield also went from having straight sides to a more ornate shape. For Type 3 coins, Liberty's head is tilted forward, and the coin's denomination went from being inscribed as "TWENTY D." to "TWENTY DOLLARS." Each coin was struck from 33.44 of .900 fine gold.

Classic Liberty Design by James B. Longacre

The obverse features a portrait of Liberty by James B. Longacre. She has long, curly hair that covers the back of her neck, and she wears a coronet that bears an inscription of her name, "LIBERTY." Thirteen stars represent the original states along the rim. They are joined by an inscription of the date, which is at the bottom.

Longacre also designed the reverse. An eagle protects a union shield while extending its wings to its side. Above its head is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," which is encircled by thirteen stars. In its talons are arrows, symbols of America's willingness to defend her values, and an olive branch, which expresses a desire for peace. The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," arches over the design, while the coin's face value is included at the bottom of the rim.
