The Lion Dollar is a silver coin that was issued by the Netherlands. It actually served as one of the predecessors to the U.S. silver dollar. This coin weighs 27.68 g. It was minted in 1662.

Detailed Lion and Knight Designs

The lion design can be found on the obverse. The date is inscribed at the top of the design. This lion has a long tail and tongue compared to its body, and it's standing on its hind legs with its front paws up in the air.

On the reverse a knight and a shield can be seen. The knight is carrying a sack with one hand, he is just behind the shield. A lion design can be seen on the front of the shield.

This Lion Dollar was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to be authenticated and graded. After it was found to be authentic, its condition was examined. Since wear is visible and some original details are gone it was given the grade of Very Fine 30 (VF30).
