Why add this Silver 3 Kreuzer coin of Leopold 1st in Story Vault Holder to your collection?

Leopold I became Holy Roman Emperor in 1658, and held the throne until his death in 1705. Leopold is remembered most for his facial characteristic exaggerated on this 3 Kreuzer coin, a mandibular prognathism, a deformity likely caused by inbreeding, in which his lower jaw is longer than the upper.

Distinctive Image of Leopold I

Featured on the obverse is the wreathed and armored portrait of Leopold I facing right. The profile view of the Emperor clearly depicts the genetic defect which earned him the nickname of Leopold the Hogmouth. The Latin inscription of "LEOPOLDVS.D.G.R.I.S.A.G.H.B.R." represents "Leopold, by the Grace of God, Emperor of the Romans, always August, King of Germany, Hungary and Bohemia."

The most commonly struck reverse image illustrates either the coat of arms for the Habsburgs, or the Imperial Double Headed Eagle symbol of the Holy Roman Empire, surrounded by an inscription including the year of minting and "ARCHID.AVS.DVX B.CO.TYR" meaning "Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, Count of Tyrol."
