Why purchase this Silver Groschen of Prussian Duke Albrecht von Brandenburg?

The Prussian Groschen of the middle ages was a thick silver coin with a diameter measuring approximately 22-23 mm with a weight of around 2 grams. This Groschen was struck 1525-1569 for Albrecht von Brandenburg, the first Duke of Prussia.

Realistic Portrait of the Duke

The bearded, armored portrait of Albrecht von Brandenburg, is located on the obverse, surrounded by a circular frame containing the inscription "IVSTVS EX FIDE VIVIT" (The Just lives on Faith) and date. Many varieties of this obverse were struck, with differences mostly occurring in the neck armor as well as the style and shape of the Duke's beard.

Featured on the reverse is the coat of arms of Prussia, a spread eagle with a crowned "S" on its chest. Inscribed "ALBER D G MAR BRAN DVX PRVSS," which means "Albert, by the grace of elder for the Margrave of Brandenburg, Duke of Prussia."
