Why add this Edward I 1279-1307 England Canterbury Treasure Silver Penny York to your collection?

He showed the Scots brutality, while he stole the money and property of Jews before expelling them from England. This coin was the largest issued for general use during his reign. The reverse has a cross that made the coin easily divisible into halfpennies and farthings, i.e. a quarter of a penny.

  • This piece was the largest coin struck for regular use during King Edward I's reign.
  • This coin was struck in York.
  • The coin was released some time between 1279-1307.
  • Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this coin Extremely Fine 45.
