1 oz. Silver Mercury Design Round
The Mercury dime is a 10-cent coin issued by the US government from 1916-1945. It bore a detailed engraving of a young Liberty, with a winged Phrygian cap. This was a design of Adolph Weinman, and was very well detailed. After seeing this new design on their 10-cent coins, people were under the impression that it was an engraving of the Roman god Mercury. Thus, the name was unofficially changed to “Mercury” Dime.
This 1 oz. Silver round commemorates this, bearing the same obverse and reverse designs as the dime itself. Called the “Mercury Design Round,” this round features the same image of “Mercury” as the dime, as well as engravings reading “LIBERTY,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” On the reverse of the silver round is an image of a fasces and an olive branch, just like the dime. Also inscribed is “ONE TROY OUNCE,” and “.999 FINE SILVER.”
Composed of 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, they are a perfect addition to your silver stack. What better way to add a classic design to your collection, while still increasing your silver stack, all at a low premium!
