With the filming of the movie 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' New Zealand is known as the home to Middle-earth. To mark this event in cinematic history, New Zealand Post has issued official legal tender commemorative coins from Middle-earth.

This handsome three-coin brilliant uncirculated set features the following subjects: Gandalf, aside fellow wizard Radagast; three of the thirteen dwarves, shown on their journey; Thorin Oakenshield. This set comes in a tri-fold display card that features images from the film and explains the characters on the coins.
